A Beautiful Fall Day

It was so beautiful today... The trees have just given way to deep red, bright yellow, and this particular dusty orange that seems new very year. There is loveliness everywhere.

I made a loaf of bread and a pot of soup, and we had friends over for lunch and fun. We waved at their retreating car and finished up our work in the quiet of this Fall afternoon.

Cold weather is around the corner, I hear. The weatherman has been telling tales of rain and temperatures so chilly that I shiver just hearing them out loud. But on this Thursday in early October, there was bike riding, trampoline jumping, and rolling in the grass.

There were fluttering sundresses and dirty little toes sticking out of worn sandels.

There was time to talk with a new friend about gratitude and what the real source of happiness is as we sat in blue fold-up chairs and smiled into the sunshine at our kids racing by. God is good, friends!

  1. Laura - I just noticed last evening on the way home from soccer practice how the trees have put on their "fall dress" in full force! It was an absolute beautiful drive home! Looks like you all had a wonderfully full day! Blessings!
