A Fun Fall Adventure!

A few weekends ago we went with my parents to the Kiski Junction Railroad for a Fall foliage train ride!

The Kiski Junction Railroad has been a working shortline freight train for the past 150 years. On the weekends they offer passenger rides along the river in Schenley. When I was in London during my senior year of college, I traveled all over Europe on trains and grew accustomed to seeing gorgeous countryside fly by through the big, dusty windows.

Max is in love with trains right now, so we thought it would be neat to take him on a real working train.

Dapper Sam, ready to board the train.

Sam, Max, & Nana check out the scenery.
Chloe and Pop spent most of their train time indulging in their favorite pastime, storytelling.
Best Pals.
It's Fall in Pennsylvania!

Sam spent most of his train time eating fritos. C'est la vie.
Max is our little engineer, a lover of all types of transportation.

What a neat way to see the world.
The kids were able to hang their heads out the window because the train went pretty slow. It made Mommy a little nervous, but they loved it!

Autumn Joy

We took our annual trip to Shenot's farm market with the family to pick pumpkins, drink cider, and race through the corn maze. It was unseasonably hot this year - over 80 degrees! By the time we were heading down the hill on the hayride, we were all sweating and squinting and discussing the fact that it just felt wrong to be picking pumpkins in 80 degree weather. Despite the heat, we had a great time and were grateful to spend the afternoon with our family.

Pumpkin Paradise!

Baby James needs some shades!

 Heading up to the patch!

Delicious apples right off the trees!

There were a lot of good pumpkins to choose from!

Into the corn maze...

Taking a little break on the hot Fall day.

Displaying our afternoon's work.

Fall has arrived and we are enjoying every minute of it!

Swept Away

Scenes from an October Saturday...

Well you set my life a whirling

Darling when you're twirling

On the floor.

And who cares about tomorrow?

What more is tomorrow then another day?

You swept me away.

You swept me away.

We're thanking God today for our beautiful little girl. She brings us so much joy.
